Ylan’s Adaptation

The father of one of my colleagues passed away, so my other colleagues and I went to the wake earlier this evening. I saw a former colleague (from another department) and we exchanged hellos. She then asked me how many kids have I got already? I told her none and that I’m not yet married. She was surprised and further asked who is/was my boyfriend at the office then? Told her nobody. I was not one of those pairs whose love affairs blossomed at the office. She said “really? I know you have a boyfriend there!”. Ahaha! She’s funny. Can’t blame her though. Most of my peers have kids already. And she met her husband at work. Well, let’s just say, that is not how my story shall be told.

Anyways, talk about kids, I may not have a kid of my own yet but we have a little kid at home. My nephew is getting naughtier each day. I hope he can understand already if I told him I’d buy him toys if he’ll behave well. But of course he’s too young to decipher whatever bribery I would hand in. He’ll just look at you with his beguiling eyes and antic smiles. He is sore today. He bumped unto a wooden chair and bruised his forehead. He can’t just stay put and let me do my stuff. But I love watching him grow.
