It is always easier said than done but if i were given the chance to move or live in the US, I’d definitely visit and travel to each state. I have a classmate in high school who has been doing this. I’m just not sure how many states she had visited so far. I’m sure there are a lot of tours to enjoy like this Branson vacation packages which are really inviting. I also want to experience what the character of Mandy Moore did in that movie by Nicholas Sparks? I forgot the title but she said she’d like to visit two states at the same time. So she was at a boarder, one foot stepping one state, the other foot stepping the other state. Cool eh? I also wanna see the Grand Canyon featured in the movie Only Fools Rush In. Well, i’ve been to Michigan, Illinois, California - how many states to go if ever i get back?

insurance and retirement

I have been receiving articles in my inbox lately about retiring age, how to retire early, how to retire a millionaire, so on and so forth. Just great! I mean lots of inspiring stories to read but geez, I don’t even have an insurance of my own (other than the government insurance), haven’t even read about life insurance rates so I would know how much of my salary would be allocated. Thus, I can’t think of retiring just about yet. But on a lighter note, I think it would really be great to retire early. But when I tried to compute how much should I save every month to come up with enough money when I retire say at the age of 50 (and that’s not even early in the articles), the amount is way bigger than what I earn every month today! Haha! The conclusions I come up are terrifying. I can’t retire early because my savings wouldn’t be enough? If I save today so I would grow old comfortably, I probably would not reach those golden days anyway because I die early due to hunger? Or I would retire so late and moneyless? Eww what could get worst than that?

Ok. I can’t possibly think how will I end up. Hmnnnn….maybe at least I should start saving 1 peso a day now. Lol!

i’m limping

Arggh! My legs hurt! I haven’t run in two months maybe? I got sick, i wasn’t that motivated, I was lazy. I decided to go for a quick jog last Wednesday since I’ll be joining another fun run this coming Sunday. If felt awful. My legs are sore. It feels like I just got into running for the first time. Although one thing haven’t changed - I still can’t go through 2.5km straight without walking. Lol! Well I did manage to complete it maybe twice or thrice before but it is such a very hard ordeal getting it done every time. Now, I can really see that I won’t be able to go farther than 5k! Yay!

The runners’ club at work had a session last time about running and healthy lifestyle. They invited two doctors who are also runners/marathoners. In that talk, I learned that smoking and Mesothelioma are two of the top causes of death. So two things to remember - don’t smoke and avoid exposing yourself to asbestos dust. People working in plants who are prone to asbestos should take extra precautionary care to avoid certain type of cancers.

The fun run this Sunday will be a record breaker perhaps. Registrants have reached up to 23 thousand. Amazing right?

It’s going to be a short week for all of us next week. Our counterparts in the US will be off on Monday for Labor Day. While us in Cebu will be off on Thursday and Friday. Good thing that the Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) had been moved from Saturday to Friday. Thursday is a special non working holiday in Cebu alone for Osmena Day.

Me and my friends at work are contemplating on where to spend the long weekend. It would be nice to go to the beach but maybe not, the weather is not too good lately. My friends in MI said lucky they got some good roadside assistance last time because their RV was a mess the last time they went for a little picnic. Now, they can gear their RV for another time of much needed rest and recreation activity.

Yey! I’m excited! No weekly telecons next week. No work. And I’m going to meet two good friends on Thursday. Can’t wait!

time flies fast

Oh yeah, the ‘ber’ months have started! Can’t believe how time flies so fast. It seems like yesterday and before I knew it, we are already having Christmas parties at the office. In the Philippines, Christmas starts as early as September. It’s like the ‘ber’ months signify the start of the joyous season. And because of that, it would be great if I start getting my Christmas wishlist done too!

Friends? Anyone? I love watches so you really would be an angel if you’d give me Audemars Piguet watches perhaps. I’m into running lately and I have been wanting to own a sports watch. Hint. Hint. The silver watch I used to wear at work is already defective. I need a new one. Another hint. Heheh. Seriously, I love watches. So, I really wouldn’t mind if you’ll give me tons of it.

My next wish? Hmnn later…

summer and weekends

I just got a message from a friend in Spain. They just got back from a vacation. She and her family are going on another trip again this weekend. She said they’re just enjoying the last days of summer. Soon enough, it will be cold again at their side of the planet.

Another friend told me that she just got back from a long vacation too. And now that she’s back to reality, first things first and that is to find an rv insurance quote for her newly acquired vehicle. Good for her! She too can enjoy the last days of summer.

Me? Rainy season is here but we still enjoy summer every now and then. That’s what is living in a tropical country.

So, I pray much that next weekend would be a sunny one – got a long weekend to enjoy!

telenovela addict

Ok, i was a Korean novela addict some time ago when the hit Korean Novela ‘Lovers in Paris’ was shown on Philippine television. Or was it the Taiwanese novela ‘Meteor Garden’ who started it? I can’t remember but one thing sure i was once very hooked to these filipino dubbed tv dramas.

Now? i’m hooked to filipino telenovelas! as in! and it’s all because of Rafael Rosell.. haayzz. hehe!

I have never been to any movie house lately. The very reason is because most of my friends are no longer around and have gone to another country to work. Those who are left are either busy attending to their love life or family life or not much of a movie fan. Yeah yeah, I should get a (love) life of my own. I hear you!

If I have to go and watch a movie or a show, I better prepare enough moolah because aside from theater tickets to pay, my day/night will not be complete without some pop corns to munch. And here’s a secret only you can know – I can finish the popcorn even before the show can start! Lol! Yes, I can. Seriously. I can. Lol! Now, future dates, you got a clue.

Speaking of movies, I might go and see a movie this Friday. It’s a holiday for us! Yey! Long weekend!

how’s the weather?

Our beautiful archipelagic country unlike other countries has 2 seasons only. The dry and the wet season. So it’s either sunny or rainy (with occasional low pressure, storms and typhoons). It’s either you get naked or sport a hoodie. Kidding! Although there are certain months when rainy season is peak, one can never tell if during a summer day it rains. Just when you don’t bring an umbrella, here comes the rain. One lucky day isn’t it?

While I love summer, it’s never often that I get to spend my time in the beach or in the cool mountains of Sagada to avoid the summer heat. I wouldn’t mind being homey if I had some humidifier filters at home. Then I’d be comfortable just chilling watching my favorite telenovelas eating halohalo or banana cue. Oh, my friends out there would surely envy this scenario. Just at this very moment, they were talking on how they miss eating authentic Pinoy dishes. Well, i envy their gorgeous winter clothes, so maybe it’s just fair.
